Giving to Gain: CACHARLES + CO. Celebrates International Women’s Day 2026 with CIBC Caribbean
At CACHARLES + CO., we believe that empowering women goes beyond celebrating their achievements. It also means creating opportunities, sharing knowledge, opening doors and building communities in which women are encouraged to grow, lead and succeed.
This year, our Principal, Charlene A. Charles, once again had the pleasure of attending CIBC Caribbean’s International Women’s Day Panel Discussion and Networking Session at its Head Office in Barbados.
Returning for another year was particularly meaningful. CIBC Caribbean has continued to create spaces that bring women together to exchange experiences, learn from one another and celebrate the many ways women contribute to business, leadership and the wider community.
Give to Gain
The 2026 International Women’s Day campaign theme, “Give to Gain,” centred on a simple but powerful idea: when we give, we gain.
The theme encourages generosity and collaboration as tools for advancing women, whether through sharing knowledge, mentorship, advocacy, resources, visibility, opportunities or simply our time. It recognises that supporting the advancement of women is not a loss to one person for the benefit of another. Rather, it has a multiplying effect that strengthens workplaces, communities and future generations.
That message strongly resonates with the values of CACHARLES + CO. As a woman-led firm, we understand the importance of women having access not only to opportunities, but also to the guidance, encouragement and networks that help them make the most of those opportunities.
Learning from Women Who Lead
A highlight of the afternoon was the panel discussion, which brought together an accomplished group of women who shared their experiences, perspectives and lessons from their respective professional journeys.
The conversation provided an opportunity to hear candidly from women in leadership about the importance of giving back, supporting other women and recognising that success becomes even more meaningful when we use our experiences and influence to create opportunities for others.
Each panellist brought her own perspective to the discussion, reinforcing that there is no single path to leadership or success. What connected their stories, however, was the value of community, mentorship, resilience and the willingness to share what we have learned along the way.
Conversations Beyond the Panel
Following the formal discussion, guests were invited to a cocktail reception, providing an opportunity to continue the conversations in a more relaxed setting.
These moments are an equally important part of gatherings such as this. Networking is not simply about exchanging business cards or making professional connections. It is about building genuine relationships, sharing experiences, finding common ground and, sometimes, being able to offer an introduction, a word of encouragement or an opportunity that may make a difference in another woman’s journey.
In many ways, the networking session was itself an extension of the Give to Gain theme: women connecting, exchanging ideas and creating space for one another.
Celebrating CIBC Caribbean’s Commitment to Women
It is always an honour for CACHARLES + CO. to support and participate in initiatives hosted by CIBC Caribbean that place women’s empowerment, professional development and leadership at the forefront.
We value CIBC Caribbean’s continued commitment to creating meaningful spaces where women can connect, learn from each other and celebrate their collective achievements.
For Charlene, being invited to attend once again was both a privilege and a reminder of the importance of continuing to show up for other women. Whether through mentorship, sharing knowledge, making an introduction, providing an opportunity or simply encouraging another woman to keep going, each of us has something that we can give.
At CACHARLES + CO., we remain committed to doing our part.
Because when we give our knowledge, we create confidence. When we give opportunities, we create possibilities. When we give support, we strengthen communities.
And when women are empowered to thrive, we all gain.
Happy International Women’s Day 2026!
